When Moses stood at the burning bush, he anticipated the question the Israelites would ask: "What is His name?" God did not offer a generic title like "God" (Elohim) or "Lord" (Adonai). He offered a specific, personal definition of existence:

“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM... Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YHWH (יהוה) God of your fathers... hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” (Exodus 3:15)

The Legal Implication:

Permanence: The phrase "for ever" (l'olam) and "unto all generations" legally binds this name to the Covenant eternally. It does not expire when the era changes.

Exclusivity: This name is His "memorial." It is the specific handle by which He is to be remembered. To replace it is to erase the memorial.

Untranslatability: A personal name is a proper noun. It does not change based on the language of the speaker. If a man named "David" travels to France, he does not legally become "Pierre." He remains David. God’s name is YHWH in Hebrew, and it remains YHWH in any language.

The Violation:

Later traditions removed this memorial name, replacing it first with titles ("The Lord") and ultimately directing worship to a new, foreign name ("Jesus"). This violates the direct command of Exodus 3:15.

How did the Hebrew concept of the Messiah become the Greek deity-figure "Jesus Christ"? It happened through a two-step process of Linguistic Alchemy: stripping a word of its function and hardening it into a new identity.

The Error: Over time, the Gentile world stopped treating "Christos" as a description of a function (anointed) and began treating it as a Proper Name (Christ). The functional reality that this figure is a servant anointed by YHWH was lost. "Christ" became a standalone divine surname.


Step 2: Yehoshua Becomes Jesus (The Name Shift)

The name given to the Messiah in the Hebrew context would have been Yehoshua (Joshua), meaning "YHWH is Salvation."

  • Hebrew: Yehoshua
  • Greek: Iesous (The Greeks lacked the 'sh' sound and the 'y' sound, and added an 's' to make it masculine).
  • Latin: Iesus
  • English: Jesus (The 'J' sound is a recent invention, less than 500 years old).
  • The Result: The final name, "Jesus," has absolutely no etymological connection to the name YHWH. The meaning "YHWH is Salvation" is stripped away. The sound is foreign. The "Memorial Name" of the Father (YHWH) is completely absent from the name of the Son.

The Verdict: The name "Jesus Christus" is a Gentile construction. It is a linguistic artifact of Rome and Greece, not a revelation from Zion.

III. The Silence of the Prophets (The "No Addition" Clause)

If God intended to introduce a new name that would be mandatory for salvation specifically the phonetic sound “Jesus" He was legally required to announce it through His servants the prophets.

“Surely the Lord YHWH will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7)

We scour the Law and the Testimony for this announcement. We find descriptive titles:

  • Immanuel (God with us)
  • Pele-Joez (Wonderful Counselor)
  • Tzemach (The Branch)

But we do not find "Jesus." We do not find "Iesous."

Because the canon of the Law and Testimony was closed without this name, the introduction of "Jesus" as a binding authority is a post-prophetic addition. It is a "new word" that God did not speak. By the standard of the Torah, unauthorized addition is false witness.

IV. The Violation of Glory (The Theft of Title)

The most dangerous aspect of this replacement is not merely linguistic; it is theological. It creates a rival Saviour.

The Exclusive Claim of YHWH:

“I, even I, am YHWH; and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isaiah 43:11)

“I am YHWH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another.” (Isaiah 42:8)


The Conflict:

Modern theology teaches:

  1. "Jesus" is the name above every name.
  2. Salvation is found in no other name.
  3. Every knee must bow to the name of Jesus.

The Collision:

This creates a direct collision with Isaiah 43:11. If YHWH is the only Saviour, and He gives His glory to no other, then elevating a separate entity named "Jesus" to the status of "The Saviour" is an act of treason against the exclusive crown of YHWH.

The entity "Jesus Christus” as defined by councils, creeds, and Greek philosophy is functionally distinct from YHWH. Therefore, bowing to it is giving glory to "another."

V. The "Formula" Fallacy

Finally, we must address the mechanism of access. Tradition treats the name "Jesus" as a magical formula a password that unlocks heaven.

  • Tradition says: "You must pray in the name of Jesus or God will not hear."
  • Scripture says: "YHWH is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)

The Tanakh teaches that access to God is based on Covenant Fidelity (Repentance/Teshuvah), not Invocation (Spelling/Pronunciation).

  • David prayed directly to YHWH (Psalm 51).
  • Hannah prayed directly to YHWH (1 Samuel 1).
  • Daniel prayed directly to YHWH (Daniel 9).

None of them used a mediator's name. None of them required a secondary password. To teach that prayer is blocked without the name "Jesus" is to erect a barrier that God Himself did not build. It restricts access to the Father, which is the opposite of what the Messiah was supposed to do.

Conclusion: The Unauthorized Identifier

Based on the strict evidence of the Law and the Testimony:

The Name is Foreign: "Jesus Christus" is a Greco-Latin fabrication, disconnected from the Hebrew "Memorial Name" (YHWH).

The Authority is Absent: God never spoke this name to the prophets; therefore, it carries no command to be obeyed.

The Usage is Idolatrous: Elevating this name to the status of "Savior" violates the exclusivity of YHWH (Isaiah 43:11).

The faithful remnant is called to return to the source. The contract cannot be signed in the name of a substitute. It must be signed in the name of the King Himself: YHWH, the Holy One of Israel. Immanuel was given by God as per Isaia’s prophecy, Immanuel was born, Immanuel lived ,died and resurrected, Jes-us Christ-us was invented early 4th century hence the need to burn all scripture in 303 AD.
